BIOS settings for Linux install via USB
Posted by: fxfxfx - 07-08-2017, 09:09 AM - Forum: MeLE PCG03 Apo - Replies (1)

Which BIOS settings should I change to allow for installing Linux via USB? I'm looking to boot clonezilla Live via USB to clone a Win10 ISO from the SSD and then proceed with trying out different Linux distros, such as pfsense, IPFire and Lubuntu on my PCG03 Apo.

I have tried changing the secure boot options, but without success. The pre-sales Mele support team confirmed that booting Linux was possible on the PCG03 Apo and stated that business customers had a requirement for this. I'm lookin got dupicate their success of installing Linux onto the box, but it seems a tutorial for booting successfully from a bootable Linux USB drive needs specific settings in place. Please advice on the necessary settings to boot from USB. Thanks!

I realize this it not the place to post about the Mele M11D02 but you offer no options for it in the forum, I am a tester for KdLinks, I have been in touch with a Julie Tan ( sales15@melestar.com ) It takes weeks to get a response from her and she is less than helpful, Julie sent me updated firmware for this unit which bricked the box I believe, Here is the link to the firmware she sent me.

https://mega.nz/#!ldoSiDLb!vHcgCLse6BmoKokEULZTSxuSFIDAn4gdMclMa-dcMJQ

After trying to install this firmware I receive an error saying it is looking for an OTA .zip file, Could you please send me a fix for this issue ?  Either a method to remedy this problem and install the .img or a firmware in .zip format, I dont care how you do it but I will be damned if Mele support has not been the worst I have ever seen, Do you guys even care at all about your customers ?
